Sydney garage pop four-piece Flowertruck present their new single "Dying To Hear" – the first taste from the band's anticipated debut album. The single comes as Flowertruck prepare to head out on the road for a slew of festival shows across the East Coast this March with a special stop off at The Worker’s Club on Saturday April 15.
Drawing influences from the likes of Talking Heads, The Smiths and The Go-Betweens, Flowertruck combine earnest lyricism with shimmery guitars and lamenting piano instrumentals on "Dying To Hear" to create a unique pop sound that is at once catchy and moving. Rushforth says "there was this incredible grand piano in the studio that Sarah [Sykes] went crazy on. That really took the song to a whole other level."
Flowertruck have been a band to look out for since their first single "I Wanna Be With You" in late 2014 winning both FBi’s ‘Unsigned Artist of the Week’ andRage’s ‘Indie of the Week’. After releasing their debut EP 'Dirt' in 2016, the band are now putting the final touches on their forthcoming debut album, with 'Dying To Hear' a taste of more to come.
