GraceJean are cathartic. The Melbourne based folk duo boast live shows that range from heartbreakingly tender to feet stompingly boisterous. Finalists in this year’s Darebin Songwriting Competition, their music is abundant in rich harmonies, intricate guitar lines and compelling lyrics.
Influenced by bands such as Joseph, the Staves and Ben Howard the duo push at the folk genre envelope, offering a sound that is new yet also deeply trenched in the tradition.
Preparing for a busy 2019 (starting with an appearance at The Village Festival at the Lorne Falls Festival), GraceJean has spent this year recording a live Ep as well as a debut album, both of which are due for release next year.
Joining GraceJean will be fellow music makers Miller and Seb Szabo. Miller is a singer / songwriter / storyteller who writes emotionally honest folk-pop music with poetic simplicity. Szabo creates music that is a passionate blend of big-hearted indie rock and lyrics that are as honest as they are emotive.ass.
