murmurmur (EP Launch)

murmurmur (pronounced mer-mer-mer) seemingly burst from nowhere in June 2018 with the release of their debut single ‘Cable Car’. The track was immediately picked up by triple j and Australian community radio and received effusive praise from leading Australian and international tastemaker blogs.
However, behind the scenes stands a band of musicians that have been assiduously developing their craft for over ten years. This experience has allowed murmurmur to produce widescreen pop music that crashes over the listener with kaleidoscopic detail.
Today, the band have announced that their debut, self-titled EP will be released on Friday, 19 October 2018 and, to celebrate the release, they’ll be bringing their kinetic live show to the Workers Club in Melbourne on 8 November. This will be the band’s first Melbourne headline show in over 12 months and is not to be missed.
Praise for ‘Cable Car’:
“An invigorating blast of prog-rock psychedelia” - Indie Shuffle
“Excuse me while I just sit here and soak this all in...” 4 stars, Nick Findlay, triple j
“murmurmur have cultivated a mesmerising sound in Cable Car” - I Oh You
“Cable Car will leave your head covered in haze. It is a piece of majestic psychedelic-pop that reaches grandiose levels...it’s a moment of awe, as if we have just witnessed a supernova suddenly emerge before our eyes” – The Revue
